I made it to the mountains!

Finally! After 1 cancled flight,  3 missed flights, 28 hours of travelling, 3 different countries and a train ride. I made it HOME. Unfortunatly, I was so sad I missed my entire skiing trip with my friends... I really love skiing and we was supposed to spend the whole weekend together too ski and catch up, and in my case relax a little bit before a kick-off this week!

However, I felt like I did not want to miss out all of the fun, so even though I slept 4 hours, I woke up at 6am this morning and drove up to spend the last days in the mountains with my friends. It is so funny, we always go on amazing trips when I am home visiting!  I came  up to breakfast and a nice warm cabin. I LOVED IT. We went on a little ski tirp, had hot chocolate with cream and got roses in our face.

Now I am pretty tired, but it was so worth it!! I am going to get to bed soon now. Tomorrow is a day with meetings for Miss Norway!

Im happy to be home. Finally.

Love,

Rebecca

PS: Due to my delays, I had so much time to plan for Africa!

Workout with a friend !

I thought I would share with you a super good idea and experience I had. Since my goals this last week has been focusing in gym and being healthy, it can be easy to do the same things at the gym and not change it up. So I decided to go together with one of my really good friends, Lia. (She is a machine!)

First off, because it is fun to work out with a friend and also to get some new ideas!

She learned me so new teqniques and new methods and I would want to share it with you here. The best thing we definitely did together was boxing!

Squats with a medicine ball!

S

High-Knee elpise and Stair Master (The stair master killed me, but so much more efficient and normal elpise)

Crawler - It might be hard to find in a normal gym, but it was very fun and effective.

Boxng!! I have done it before, but Lia is actually very good at it. It such a good cardio and it will get you where you want.

Who doent like stronmg girls?

I'm packing for Norway now!

Have an amazing day!

Pre-starting the New Year - with a KICKSTART!

Hey!

I have so many things I want to get done and needed to get done so instead of waiting for a New Year and the new years resolutions to start all new projects , I decided to start it right now instead of waiting. This past week has been crazy busy with planning for the coming weeks. So instead of do everything in January i stated this week. So my goals and mission now is:

  • WORK OUT REGUALRY!

This is really my mission this days. I feel it is always a part of my week, but in this cold weather it is hard to not make it a priority.

  • STAY POSTIVE THINK POSTIVE

(I read this funny  meme on Instagram and I just loved it):

“ No more toxic relationship in 2018

No more toxic friendships in 2018

No more toxic thoughts in 2018

Only toxic by Britney Spears in 2018’

It is obviously just a joke, but I loved this one, and it is indeed some truth in that!

  • WAKE UP EARLY AND BE PRODUCTIVE

I need to get up in the morning and get things done, and also because I am 6 hours behind Norwegian time, so every time I work on projects or talk with people home, I need to do it early for me so I can reach everybody in a decent time. I have been up so early this week. Power mornings go go.

  • GET THINGS DONE

I do have so many plans for the coming weeks and months, and it is about to get it all done. Instead of just make it an idea, I will do it. And Hey! Africa is around the corner, and if that happened, everything else will. Can't wait to share with you!

Before I hit the gym today: Here is some pictures from, the past  days!

(Except this, which is an old)

Have a lovely day!

Christmas and Christmas Thoughts...

Hello and Merry Christmas!

This week has been an amazing week. I took some time off and really just enjoyed the Christmas with my parents. They came to celebrate with me in New York, which made it a quite different but a nice Christmas. We figured it was the best they came here, since I am going home next week anyways! We had such a good time, I was able to take them around to different places and to avoid the typical tourist things since we have done them before. We had food, did some shopping and just enjoyd ourselfs! So sad they left today, I do not think you can have better parents.

It is nice to feel a part of home when you live so far from your childhood home, even though this is home now and my friends here is like a family, it is still something else when parents are visiting.

On one hand I were able to mix my family from home with my family from here, and we had such a good time and it is so important to cherish those moments, and after living away for years, I do not take those moments for granted anymore. Because I do feel we sometimes take our parents or friends or home for grantes.  That was what I think did the Christmas a bit different from back home and here. When we are home, we are surrounded by gifts, food and decorations, friends and family  Everything is pretty much good! Having Christmas in New York, you are faced with a lot of sadness and a lot of people that do not have it like we do in Norway. It gives you a perspective on life. It is not even a few that struggles, it is many.

Its not an unusual thing here to see people who suffer, but in a time like Christmas, where focus should be family, love, food and celebration, and everybody is rushing home for food and overload, it makes it sad to see the ones that can't do that. Knowing what you have, versus them that have nothing or so little, hurts to think off

During Christmas, we were able to give one homeless guy some extra dessert and buy another guy some hot tea. And it might not be that much, but small things can make such a different for some people. Its something everyone could do. I personally prefer to buy or give food, cause it is always a need and you know where it will go and that you actually help someone, by doing so little.

In the end is not only those people that are visible that need some extra. I mean in NYC it is kind off clear sometimes if a person need help, comparing to Norway, where these problems are more hidden "because we assume everybody is rich and wealthy and are celebrating" it does not need to be. There is a lot of people in Norway feeling alone during the holiday, So encourage everybody to take a look at the surrandings around you, either its your granny, a person on the bus or at work, are the ok? Could they need an extra hand during the holiday. Sometimes it is so little that need to be done to make a change.

Not only should we do this for Christmas: but all year. See a little longer than our own nose tip and give a little extra. Even if it is just a smile!

I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and I wish everybody the same for Christmas that i had! At least we can do it a little better for someone else ❤️

Here are some few pictures from my Christmas:

Changing lives in Africa - Miss Norway Made me do it!

Finally, I am so happy to announce a project I have been working on for a long time. A big part of my passion is to help other people and do what we can do make the world a little better for the ones that don’t have the same privilege as we do. Since I was the charity project leader of a “Operasjon Peru”, in 2012, it really changed my impact on things n life. I could see how little money we could give to help someone in Peru. The experience through this year made me keep working on cases like this and want to do this more.

As a part of Miss Norway, charity work is a part of the process, and I decided it is time to do something big again. I feel we often want to do things and help people, but we never prioritize it as much as we want because lack of time or own priorities. But now, I decided it is about time to make a change again and I do want to do it big and the ideas started to pop.

My bestfriend Guro, has been living back and forth in Kisumu, Kenya, the past years and been part of projects down there and she told me a lot of the needs and life there. She was my first inspiration, she has really make a huge impact on life there, and she is an amazing role model. It is a developing country with lacking resources and the opportunities we have. Her mother in law, have started a home there for girls there, that has been homeless, to give them a chance to fair life and an opportunity to make a life for them self. This is girls, that are my age and below.

The reason why this was an inspiration is because these girls have nothing, compared to us that have everything. So together with her Julia (Guro’s mother in law) I am going to travel to Kenya to educate and teach this girls about achieving goals and opportunities. As well as doing that we will create an event and do as much as we can to make an impact or them (Imagine they have nobody that do that for them). So I have 2 months now to prepare everything to go down there and make a change. So it will be what we are able to create that will be the results of the trip. I have been in contact with a few companies that might be willing to provide some resources. As well as we are going to bring as much cloths and stuff we have to give away! So, if anyone out there want to be a part of this journey, reach out to me!  I will also be visiting and orphanage, with babes and kids age0-18 so we will also have something for them . This is just the beginning – let’s see how far we can get. I can not wait to go to Kenya, but most of all- to make a change.

Sending some love to all!

Friday in New Jersey!

Hello !!

A small update from Friday's shoot in New Jersey! I woke up super early to prepare the last things, and we had to get my hair and make up done by 8:30 and be in Jersey by 10! And it's kinda close to The City, but with the Morning rush in New York, you kinda have to have some extra time.

When I got there the set was already set up, and the stylist arrived with the cloths! The dress was just amazing! More beautiful than I ever thought. I was like: Am I gonna wear this for real?

The shoot went super well, we did lingerie, bikini, body suit and the evening dress. So it was very intense but so fun!

I think we made a super good team.

The pictures turned out pretty good too, I briefly saw a few but I will Get the results by the end of the month.

Here is some snap shots from the day at least:
