Hello all my lovely readers ♥!!
Is Miss Norway is only about having a good looks?
I've got a lot of Question about this <3 and i think it's my time to answer and explain this question.
First of all i want to say that to be one of the Miss Norway Participant is an honor and big responsibility, and i will use my voice and this opportunity to inspire the people in my Country which here in Norway <3
For several years, girls have competed to be Norway's prettiest girl, but what does it really mean to be Miss Norway? Is everything just about being pretty or about having a good body? i remember when I signed up for Miss Norway, I heard a lot of prejudice. Things like "why would you want to be part of something that puts so much body pressure on young girls?" Or "isn't it just about being pretty?" and these are things that people pick up on, simply because there is too little information about what a miss contestant actually has to go through to become "Miss Universe Norway or Miss Universe". Sometimes I, myself, think about whether I will continue to participate in this competition and I push myself to continue since there is something I wanted to show to others that all of us women must have this confidence!, Because i believe having confidence will bring you in the long path, and you will not even think that you are there.
But let me tell you one thing, being pretty means nothing if you are not a good role model, with a humble and nice heart inside of you. As your one of the Miss Norway participant we work to make the world a better place. We work to be good role models who can represent Norway in a strong and healthy way. There is a reason why we at Miss Norway are called performers on an equal footing with an athlete, it is demanding to take part in such a competition. Building an image from scratch, marketing oneself, and we have a lot to face a challenge in this competition for other's and for this world, not to mention that we are closely followed by both the public and the management through everything we do.
Every day, many of us participants spend hours planning and carrying out activities. We blog, do charity work, find sponsors, have sponsor meetings, appear in the press, pose for photoshoots and much more. It takes planning, patience, and it takes strong mental health to be involved at times. I'm very proud of myself what i've been done so far for this competition! and I am ready for more upcoming activities that i can contribute for this country!
By now you are probably thinking "so why are you joining?"
Many people comment that this is based on appearance, and that in such competitions there is huge pressure on appearance. This is not true. As a participant myself, so far I have not once experienced that someone has put pressure on how we look or who we should be. Do you know why? Because everyone is perfect in their own way, we are simply good enough as we are and Being a role model to others is the biggest fulfilling we can show to this world. Always remember as Pia Wurtzbach Miss Universe 2015 said "I'm confidently beautiful with the heart" and this is the biggest things you can show to yourself for others <3
