Hello, 

On Thursday I had the honor to be invited to NYU, New York University to be part of the Hear.Speak.Free event that took place. So I just got on the first flight to from LA to New York. I couldn’t be more happy or proud to a part of this. Such a great time and people to work with- I have no words. Hanna and Elena you girls are amazing for have started this.

They invited me to be the international ambassador for their organization. They  wanted me to come talk about my charity projects I have been working on lately in Kenya and in my past. who I was and how we can use social media to be a voice for the one that does happen not have one. And how important my participation in Miss Norway is!

They were inspired by my participation in Miss Norway  2018 and how I wanted to use my position as an independent woman to speak for for the one who can’t.

I have had a lot of experience working with different charity project as well as my last three project in Kenya. I reflected up on how we could do the same I did there with  the hear speak free organization.

I felt honored and blessed to be invited to come speak at one of the worlds most recognized universities! Can you believe it?

Hear. speak. free, promote such an important topic in today’s world regarding human trafficking. This is a topic that I don’t think that many people is aware of happening every day we do believe this is something that only happens in the movies.However this is Big problem in In Ukraine and other Eastern European countries.  I was so shocked myself. And for me this is something that we really can stop! We can raise awareness around this and stop it. Especially we that live in Norway and US, where we have a system that gives us freedom and a voice. We can choose to use that position to help others - that is what I want to do.

By raising awareness we can stop this. Using social media can change a lot and it’s so little that needed to be done by each an one of us. By sharing a photo, update a status and start an idea we can actually change this. People are on their phone all the time, using social media, Instagram, Facebook, so we can use the time on our phones on something that actually matter. Scrolling up and down or phone and get influenced by everything  we see, we can choose to be a part of what we see. Heart.speak.free will do this and stop human trafficking- because if we talk about it and raise awareness. We will know that it is actually happening. It happens to way more people they you think. And by being a voice in the society. We can End and stop this. Everyday slavery shouldn’t be a thing in 2018.

In this moment I am writing to you from Chicago Airport - I really feel like a globe trotter now. About to board my 20th flight this year. 

I wanted to share with you a story and some of the results from our investment and start up at the rescue center in Kenya and what it have resulted in. Even though  things aren't  completely done yet- this is a start of what we are trying to achieve. About a week after I came home from Kenya I got some amazing news - if we can call it that. 

Lottie, one of the girls i worked along with in Kenya had heard of a girl that was mistreaten and abused at home. She was left «abandon» by her own mom, who had went to the village with a new man. So this girl was left  to love with her moms cousin. Her living situation was awful. She got beaten up, straved and was forced to work at home. Her family refused to give her the necessities she needed for school or in life in general. 

No girl in the age of 8 should live under such circumstances. NO HUMAN ever should live under such circumstances.

Since Lottie heard of this little girl, she was able to talk to the girl’s school, which could confirm that this was true. After confronting the mom and the family of the girl, they were able to take custody of the girl. The Familia Organization is now responsibility for the girl. 

Since she didn’t have any family to live with. She is now living at the Familia home with the 10 other girls and are now back in school and are now living the life she deserves. 

This show that what we do make a change. And we together can save some lives. 

 Freedom. We don’t normally spend the time thinking about it. But what if we ask “What does freedom mean to you?”. What would be your answer?

Human trafficking has stolen freedom of millions of people by 2018. Modern-day slavery targets countries like Ukraine, where annexation of Crimea and an unrest in the eastern part of the country has forced many people to relocate, whether within a country or abroad. And succeeds, because of the lack of education on the subject.

We are hear.speak.free — a new organization that aims to raise awareness of human trafficking in Ukraine, using arts and culture. Painful history of slavery in the past, gave way to incredible culture — music, dance, art. In 1800s slaves used their home culture to feel free, even for just a minute. In 21st century slaves don’t even have a liberty to do that. So we decided to be the voice for them.

After traveling to Ukraine, we have realized that something needs to be done, since the advertisements of traffickers outshine the ones that are warning people against exploitation. Reinventing the way information gets to people we decided to employed the most powerful thing in 2018 — social media”

I have been asked to be the ambassador for the international part of this organization. Which I feel honored to do. When I came in contact with the organization a few months ago I immedicably knew I would promote this cause and work with them.  

So on Thursday We. Speak. Free is having a launch and evet at New York University to raise awareness, and I am invited to be the guest speaker in the program.  This event is going to be very powerful and important. It was with excitement and butterflies in my stomach I woke up on Sunday morning. Waiting for the desision of who that made it to the finale of Miss Norway 2018. I was checking my phone constantely. But my dad most have checked more than me. I took five minutes to go grab a cup of tea, and when i Get back to look at my phone: 3 texts from «pappa» was on my screen: emoji flowers and a congrats texts was sent! I made it to the finale. 

I was so proud and happy, and I am still. Did I actually make it? Im so excited for the following months to come. And after Sunday I really have had things coming my way.  People and friends have been so supportive and I am so blessed to have people believing in me! 

I just got some clothes ordered shipped to me from my sponsor Seven! I can not wait to get this. If you thought I have done much now - just wait for What that will come!
